The latest polling from Consensys and HarrisX straight up shows that crypto ain’t just some niche topic anymore. According to the data, 49% of voters in the U.S. see a candidate’s stance on blockchain biz as “important” when they cast their ballots. Yeah, half of them are keeping tabs on where politicos stand on digital assets, and that’s no small fry. But even with all that weight, the community is mad split.
Only 27% said they’re leaning toward pro-crypto candidates, but when you break it down, it gets trickier. Some 40% of respondents are feeling the GOP’s approach, while 38% vibe more with the Dems. No single tribe’s got all the love, even though the crypto crowd wants their policies in the game. There’s no unified flag for the blockchain heads to rally behind, yet.
Swing States Are the New Crypto Battlefield
The poll didn’t just chill in the major hubs but dove into the swing states, where things could get heated. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin—all spots where crypto regs might just swing a few votes. In Michigan, the free-market vibes are heavy, with 59% wanting less government meddling, but there’s still 41% who back the regulators. It’s a mixed bag, fam.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania? They’re down for pro-crypto ideas, no matter who’s bringing them to the table. The GOP’s got a little more love in Wisconsin for handling the crypto game, but there’s still plenty of room for the Dems to make a move.
Harris, Trump, and the Crypto Crowd
Vice Prez Kamala Harris stepped into the crypto convo recently, talking about “emerging tech” like AI and blockchain at a New York fundraiser. On the flip side, Trump’s out here going hard for the pro-crypto crowd, throwing shade at the SEC and Gary Gensler, promising to ease up the regs.
According to the poll, 56% are feeling Trump’s approach, while 54% are looking for Harris to clear up her stance. And while 44% of voters think the U.S. is slacking on blockchain support, a massive 78% want fraud protection to be priority number one. Crypto’s growing influence in the election isn’t just noise anymore—it’s got teeth.
