The Crypto Fear & Greed Index just flipped the script again. Sitting cozy at 64 on Sept. 28, it’s the highest score we’ve seen since July. Bitcoin, never one to chill, edged toward $66K, sending hodlers and traders into straight-up FOMO. You know what that means—greed’s dripping through the market veins right now.
August? That was the dark ages. Fear had everyone in a chokehold, with the Index chilling at 17 when BTC sank around $53K. But that’s old news. Now? We’re cookin’. And traders are starting to stretch their necks, catching that whiff of bull vibes. Greed’s creeping back into their portfolio plays like it never left.
Greed Ain’t Just a Number
The Index isn’t pulling these numbers out of thin air. It’s crunching data harder than an ASIC mining rig. You got your market volatility, Google trends, even Twitter beefs—all baked into that sweet 64 score. So when it hits that level, there’s a reason. It means something’s poppin’ off in the crypto jungle. About 25% of this score’s from volatility, another 25% from momentum, and the rest? Social noise and vibes. As Bitcoin breaks $65K, traders are feeling itchy to throw their sats in before it rockets higher.
Markus Thielen from 10x Research is watching the charts like a hawk. On Sept. 27, he put out a call: “Once $65,000 hits, it’s FOMO season, boys. This could juice up Q4.” So, yeah, Bitcoin’s sending out those green candles again, and the greed just might keep flowing if this thing holds.
Money Leaving Gold for Sats?
Charles Edwards, the Capriole head honcho, isn’t sugarcoating it. Dude’s bullish. He says traders are straight up yeeting their cash outta gold and stocks to pile into Bitcoin. On Sept. 27, he shot a tweet, “Capital’s flooding back into Bitcoin from gold and stocks for the next 6 months. This isn’t stopping.”
Bitcoin’s been on a heater too. We’re talking 11.18% in the past month—the best run since March. VanEck even crowned BTC as the top dog for 2024, outperforming all the legacy boomer assets. But hey, even with those gains, the market’s got a wild streak. You know how crypto be—hold tight.
